The following services and individuals to contact at the Bristol Town hall are located below under the description for each item. They are also available to assist you and answer questions during regular business hours. Services available include paying your taxes by online transfer through the Royal Bank and the National Bank, or by cash or cheque, either in person or by mail. BUILDING PERMITS

When you’re ready to build or renovate your home, summer cottage, or to add any fence or building on your property, you’ll need to obtain a building permit. TAXES and FINANCE

All property taxes can be paid directly at the office at the Bristol Town hall, or mailed. The Municipal Office accepts Visa, Mastercard and Interac payments. This method of payment is only offered at the Municipal Office, over the phone payments are not accepted. Direct transfers will continue to be accepted through the National Bank and the Royal Bank. Other financial institutions may offer this service, please contact your branch for further information. Interac e-Transfer is also an option for payment in addition to cash or check. ZONING and PLANNING

Before any building, renovation, or new construction project can be started within the Municipality of Bristol, it must first conform to zoning bylaws and ordinances of the municipality.

BRISTOL TOWN COUNCIL

Meets on the first Monday of every month in the Bristol Town hall at 8:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public. Anyone having concerns or questions regarding issues that affect Bristol may present them to council at that time.

The agenda for an upcoming meeting will be available on the Friday before each meeting. If you would like a copy, please pick one up from the Mail Box at the Municipal Office. The minutes and decisions from each meeting will be posted on the council page of the Bristol web site.
