To those interested and entitled to sign a request to participate in a referendum.

Second Draft By-Law # 303, adopted on November 3rd, 2014, to modify Zoning By-Law # 264.

PUBLIC NOTICE is given as follows:

  1. Following the public consultation meeting held on October 28th, 2014, Council adopted Second Draft By-Law # 303 which modifies Zoning By-Law # 264.
  1. This second draft by-law contains provisions which can be the subject of a request from those interested from the zones implicated, more specifically, AG 301 and the adjacent zones AG 124, LC 401 and RT 302 in order that a regulation containing these provisions be submitted for the approval of certain individuals who are entitled to vote in conformity with the Law on Elections and Referendums in Municipalities. The information determining those who are entitled to sign a request with respect to each provision of the project can be obtained at the Municipal Office located at 32 Aylmer Road from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Any person who wishes to obtain a copy of the second draft by-law, it will be available at no charge, at the Municipal Office from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

  1. To be valid, an application must:
    •  clearly indicate the provision and the zone which prompted this application and identify the zone in respect of the applicant;
    • be received at the Municipal Office at 32 Aylmer Road in Bristol no later than the eighth day after the publication;
    • be signed by at least 12 interested persons of one of the zones from where they originate or by at least the majority of them if the number of people interested in the area does not exceed 21;
  1. The qualified voters must:

4.1 be an interested person who does not have any incapacity to vote and fulfills the following conditions on November 3rd, 2014:

      • be of full age, of Canadian citizenship and be not under guardianship;
      • be a resident, owner of an immovable or occupant of a place of business in a zone where the request originated;

Additional condition to undivided co-owners of an immovable and the occupants of a place of business: be designated, by means of a proxy signed by the majority of co-owners or occupants, as the one who has the right to sign the demand on their behalf.

Condition of exercise of the right to sign a request by a legal person means any legal entity must designate one of its members, directors and employees, by resolution, a person who on November 3rd, 2014 is of full age, a Canadian citizen and who is not under guardianship.


4.2 Information to determine those entitled to sign a request may be obtained at the Municipal Office at 32 Aylmer Road, Bristol, during regular office hours.


  1. All provisions of the second draft by-law that were not subject to any valid application may be included in a regulation which does not require the approval of qualified voters.


  1. The second draft by-law can be consulted at the Municipal Office at 32 Aylmer Road in Bristol from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.


  1. The register to be signed will be open from November 19th to December 3rd, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the exception of December 2nd, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.


Description indicating the approximate location of the areas implicated by the provisions is described above in point 2.
